Good morning, Marketers, the right tone is priceless in this uncertain world<\/p>\n

On LinkedIn, marketing operations leader Sarah McNamara said<\/a>, \u201cI am sending all of the good vibes that I have to the people of Ukraine, and I salute those in Russia who are bravely speaking out against this unnecessary bloodshed.\u201d That\u2019s a sentiment with which it\u2019s easy to concur.<\/p>\n

But she also said, \u201cNow is a good time to pause your marketing messages for a moment.\u201d That\u2019s tough to hear, isn\u2019t it?But she may well be right. Someone else on LinkedIn I happen to know devoted an update to a new report she has just released. She\u2019s proud of it and I\u2019m sure it\u2019s great, but it\u2019s on a light-hearted topic that just doesn\u2019t seem compelling today.<\/p>\n

Marketing can\u2019t just stop, of course, but it\u2019s worth taking a step back and making sure that campaigns and messaging have the right tone for these troubled times.<\/p>\n
