One of the biggest controversies surrounding Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/a> was the fact that not all Pok\u00e9mon could be obtainable or transferred over into those games. Dubbed “Dexit” by the Pok\u00e9mon community, it spurred a lot of calls for boycotts and for Game Freak to change their policies.<\/p>\n

During the February 2022 Pok\u00e9mon Presents<\/a>, Game Freak announced a new pair of Pok\u00e9mon games set in what appears to be Spain, called Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet<\/a>. Featuring a cat Grass-type, a crocodile Fire-type, and a duck Water-type starter Pok\u00e9mon, these games are reportedly open-world, similar to Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, a report by Serebii.net takes note of a statement made that suggests history repeating itself.<\/p>\n

Each game that can receive Pok\u00e9mon via Pok\u00e9mon HOME can receive only Pok\u00e9mon that can be obtained in that particular game. To find out what Pok\u00e9mon appear in Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Pok\u00e9mon Violet, please look forward to the release of those games.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While this doesn’t outright confirm that exclusion of certain Pok\u00e9mon, nor does it indicate which ones may be excluded, it does state that it’s a possibility that some Pok\u00e9mon transferred into Pok\u00e9mon HOME may need to remain on that platform until another game features those particular creatures. There are nearly 1000 Pok\u00e9mon in existence now, so it is possible that Game Freak may not have the time or capacity to include them all in the newest games.
