The new GH6 features a 25.2-megapixel Live MOS sensor, the highest resolution sensor ever crammed into a Micro Four Thirds camera. It also packs the new Venus Engine for advanced image processing and contains V-Log\/V-Gamut, a first for a Lumix G MFT camera. <\/p>\n<p>The announcement comes nearly nine months after the company teased the camera during a launch event for the Lumix GH5M2.<\/p>\n<p>Panasonic <a href=\"https:\/\/na.panasonic.com\/us\/news\/lumix-gh6-compact-next-generation-mirrorless-camera-featuring-unlimited-c4k60p-422-10-bit-57k60p-10\">claims<\/a> the new engine is nearly twice as powerful as the one featured in the Lumix S1H.<\/p>\n<p><picture style=\"padding-bottom: calc(100% * 1295 \/ 2000)\"><source type=\"image\/webp\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/static.techspot.com\/images2\/news\/bigimage\/2022\/02\/2022-02-22-image-30-j_1100.webp 1100w, https:\/\/static.techspot.com\/images2\/news\/bigimage\/2022\/02\/2022-02-22-image-30-j.webp 2000w\" data-sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 680px\"\/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"1295\" width=\"2000\" src=\"https:\/\/static.techspot.com\/images2\/news\/bigimage\/2022\/02\/2022-02-22-image-30.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"b-lazy\"\/><\/picture><\/p>\n<p>Of particular interest is the camera\u2019s video recording abilities. According to Panasonic, the body is capable of 4:2:2 10-bit C4K 60p, 4:2:0 10-bit 4K120p or 4:2:2 10-bit FHD 240p HFR video recording with audio. Furthermore, the <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.panasonic.com\/cameras-and-camcorders\/cameras\/micro-four-thirds-cameras\/dc-gh6body\">GH6<\/a> can do 4:2:0 10-bit 5.8K 30p (4.4K 60p) anamorphic 4:3 video by utilizing the full area of the image sensor.<\/p>\n<p>All of that processing power does come at a cost, and I&#8217;m not talking dollars. Recording high-res video is a taxing job that requires a lot of power. With power comes heat, and as has previously been demonstrated, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=X1u-9YqrIJc\">thermal shutdown<\/a> is a very real concern in compact cameras. To combat this, Panasonic has added a cooling fan to the GH6 which it refers to as a \u201cforced-cooling mechanism\u201d in its PR material.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"LUMIX GH6 Launch Event\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jWCkFmcUsrM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The GH6 additionally boasts a five-axis gyro sensor with an updated algorithm that\u2019s good for up to 7.5 stops of stabilization. The company has also <a href=\"https:\/\/av.jpn.support.panasonic.com\/support\/global\/cs\/dsc\/download\/index.html\">updated the firmware<\/a> on several lenses to enhance autofocus compatibility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"tsadinc\">The Panasonic Lumix GH6 is scheduled to arrive in mid-March.
