Users suffered multiple problems last month ranging from dropping connectivity to 2FA SMS messages not being sent and things weren&#8217;t entirely smooth in February either.<\/p>\n<p>Just yesterday, for example, the firm said in its status page (February 21, 2022 from 4:34 PM PST to 5:32 PM PST), troubled connections and botched message sending occured after &#8220;a code change inadvertently caused a conflict in the desktop app and web client, preventing a small number of customers from sending messages.&#8221; In that case, the firm said it reverted the change, &#8220;resolving the issue for all affected customers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"adun\" data-pos=\"top\" data-raptor=\"falcon\" data-xsm=\",fluid,mpu,\" data-sm=\",fluid,mpu,\" data-md=\",fluid,mpu,\">\n            <noscript><br \/>\n                <a href=\"https:\/\/pubads.g.doubleclick.net\/gampad\/jump?co=1&amp;iu=\/6978\/reg_offprem\/front&amp;sz=300x50%7C300x100%7C300x250%7C300x251%7C300x252%7C300x600%7C300x601&amp;tile=4&amp;c=44YhURMmN7yBsQuupz9DHuBAAAAIU&amp;t=ct%3Dns%26unitnum%3D4%26raptor%3Dfalcon%26pos%3Dmid%26test%3D0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mailinvest.blog\/wp-content\/themes\/breek\/assets\/images\/transparent.gif\" data-lazy=\"true\" data-src=\"https:\/\/pubads.g.doubleclick.net\/gampad\/ad?co=1&amp;iu=\/6978\/reg_offprem\/front&amp;sz=300x50%7C300x100%7C300x250%7C300x251%7C300x252%7C300x600%7C300x601&amp;tile=4&amp;c=44YhURMmN7yBsQuupz9DHuBAAAAIU&amp;t=ct%3Dns%26unitnum%3D426raptor%3Dfalcon%26pos%3Dmid%26test%3D0\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n            <\/noscript>\n        <\/div>\n<p>But Slack has not said what exactly happened to its services today, noting only that it was &#8220;not loading for some users&#8221; and that it was looking into what was going on. At time of writing, SSO, connections, notification and messaging were all still reporting issues.<\/p>\n<p>In January last year <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2021\/01\/04\/slack_down\/\" rel=\"noopener\">the comms platform suffered an hours-long outage<\/a> caused by a scaling problem in its AWS Transit Gateways, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2021\/02\/02\/slack_outage_aws_autoscaling\/\" rel=\"noopener\">according to the company<\/a>. A return to work following a holiday would certainly trigger a spike in demand this time around.<\/p>\n<p>Later in 2021, Slack fell victim to friend of outage-followers everywhere: DNS. Backing out a <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theregister.com\/2021\/09\/30\/lets_encrypt_xero_slack_outages\/\" rel=\"noopener\">borked change to its DNS records<\/a> left the sites struggling for many users.<\/p>\n<p>While affected users await resolution, social media has been predictably supportive.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The paradox here is how I communicate to my co-workers that Slack is not loading <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/xayB2GLP9r\">pic.twitter.com\/xayB2GLP9r<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Sean C.
