The Google homepage is one of the most comfortable places on the internet. You go there, and you\u2019re greeted by a simple search box with nothing else. But that might be changing, as some users are spotting significant differences on Google.com.<\/p>\n

9To5Google<\/a> first spotted the difference, and it looks like it\u2019s only coming to the desktop version of Google\u2019s homepage. It actually has many widgets or cards on the bottom of the screen that provides you with some essential information along with the standard search box<\/a> you\u2019ve come to know and love.<\/p>\n

Google appears to be testing this new homepage out, as most people still see the standard search box with nothing else (myself included). However, for those who do have the new homepage, they\u2019ll see widgets for\u00a0Weather,\u00a0Trending,\u00a0What to Watch,\u00a0Stocks\/markets,\u00a0Local Events, and COVID news<\/a>.<\/p>\n

None of the widgets seem intrusive, so you can safely ignore them and search for whatever you want without paying them any mind. There\u2019s also a \u201cHide content\u201d button on the bottom of the screen that lets you get rid of the widgets and see a plain Google search screen.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not clear whether this will be a widespread homepage, as Google hasn\u2019t officially announced anything. We\u2019ll have to wait and see if there\u2019s a broader rollout for Google\u2019s new homepage as time goes on.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
