Kara from Google <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/business\/thread\/151147598?hl=en\">said<\/a> \u201csoon, customers will no longer be able to follow businesses on Google Search or the Google Maps app.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is going away. <\/strong>It is not clear when \u201csoon\u201d is exactly but the <a href=\"https:\/\/searchengineland.com\/google-maps-follow-button-gives-businesses-a-new-way-to-connect-with-users-307201\">follow feature<\/a> launched in 2018, allowing searchers to follow businesses through Google Search and Google Maps. When a searcher followed a business, the business would be able to send updates from the business to the user\u2019s \u201cFor You\u201d tab. And ff you already sent customers a welcome offer, that offer will work until it expires.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why we care.<\/strong> If you used the follow and welcome offers to engage with customers, you should know that the features are going away soon.
