How do you impress your prospects, get them to open up and really listen to what you have to say?<\/p>\n<p>In this article, you\u2019ll get a process and a list of ideas that you can use to turn every cold prospect into a warm conversation and an initial meeting.<\/p>\n<h2>3 Big Reasons It\u2019s So Hard to Get Your Prospects Attention<\/h2>\n<h3>Pitch Aversion<\/h3>\n<p>You are someone\u2019s prospect and you do it too; unsubscribe from frequent emails, ignore and block calls and messages.<\/p>\n<p>But, you don\u2019t avoid ALL pitches, there are some pitches you listen to. What is it about them that makes you stop, or take the call?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You know the person and you like them.<\/li>\n<li>They\u2019ve interacted with you and your content over time.<\/li>\n<li>They\u2019ve taken the time to actually read, process and form an opinion about your content, product or service.<\/li>\n<li>You actually need, want, and are looking to buy what they are offering.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Hit and Run Sales Calls<\/h3>\n<p>Two percent of sales calls yield a \u201cyes\u201d on the initial call. Wendy recommends prioritizing your prospects into a list where you start with the prospect with the least impact on your success (maybe a smaller business). And you need to do nice things for them multiple times.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Always be qualifying<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you follow this process as I\u2019ve laid it out, you\u2019ll quickly discover if they are, indeed a qualified prospect or maybe they are a potential referrer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Use their preferred method of communication<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-605\" class=\"ezoic-adpicker-ad\"\/><span class=\"ezoic-ad large-mobile-banner-2 large-mobile-banner-2605 adtester-container adtester-container-605\" data-ez-name=\"diymarketers_com-large-mobile-banner-2\"><span id=\"div-gpt-ad-diymarketers_com-large-mobile-banner-2-0\" ezaw=\"300\" ezah=\"250\" style=\"position:relative;z-index:0;display:inline-block;padding:0;min-height:250px;min-width:300px;\" class=\"ezoic-ad\"\/><\/span>If you\u2019ve been researching your prospects, and attempting to engage with them over social media, you\u2019ll have a good idea of how they prefer to communicate.<\/p>\n<p>Your goal should be to move this relationship from a third-party platform to email, then a call and then a presentation if it\u2019s appropriate.<\/p>\n<h2>What to do AFTER You Get Your Prospects\u2019 Attention<\/h2>\n<p>By this stage of the process, you should have developed close to those twelve follow-up touches and built a relationships. And this is what\u2019s going to make this next section ten times more effective.<\/p>\n<p>Not only that, but you\u2019ve built up some credibility and have exponentially increased your likelihood of grabbing someone\u2019s attention and scheduling a meeting.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-608\" class=\"ezoic-adpicker-ad\"\/>Every single one of these tips is designed to work AFTER you\u2019ve developed a relationship with your prospect. They were going on and on about something that had NOTHING to do with me or my business \u2014 DELETE.<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-610\" class=\"ezoic-adpicker-ad\"\/>This is why you don\u2019t want to use this idea until you have some connection with your prospect. So DO YOUR RESEARCH first and they will respond.<\/p>\n<p>There are two tools I really like for this tactic:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hippovideo.io\/index-v3.html\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-old-href=\"https:\/\/www.hippovideo.io\/index-v3.html\" data-lasso-id=\"4848\" data-old-=\"\"><strong>Hippo Video <\/strong><\/a>is a video creation tool that makes it easy to create videos by combining text, images, and videos from your computer, phone, or the web. You can then share them with your team or publish them on social media.<\/p>\n<p>One of the things I like about Hippo Video is the many examples they have to help you create a fun and engaging way to send to your lead and encourage them to take the next step.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.loom.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-old-href=\"https:\/\/www.loom.com\/\" data-lasso-id=\"4849\" data-old-=\"\"><strong>Loom <\/strong><\/a>is a free app that lets you record videos of your screen and share them with others. You can use Loom to record tutorials, answer customer questions, and more. Like Hippo, Loom makes it easy to add a video to your email.<span id=\"ezoic-pub-ad-placeholder-618\" class=\"ezoic-adpicker-ad\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>Power-Up Email Signatures<\/h3>\n<p>Your email signature is the most underused real estate that you can use in your sales process.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a few examples of email signatures that will do the selling for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Add an easy-to-find
