All other conditions remain the same, according to an <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/d18rn0p25nwr6d.cloudfront.net\/CIK-0001341439\/376a4071-e61d-4968-b6af-29f2751d197c.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\">Oracle press release<\/a> [PDF] and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/d18rn0p25nwr6d.cloudfront.net\/CIK-0001341439\/376a4071-e61d-4968-b6af-29f2751d197c.pdf\" world.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Cerner signed <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fiercehealthcare.com\/tech\/va-cerner-ehr-contract-10b-dod-shulkin-wilkie-mhs-genesis\" rel=\"noopener\">a $10bn deal<\/a> with the Department of Veterans Affairs to upgrade its electronic health records system. Shortly afterwards the budget <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/ehrintelligence.com\/news\/va-cerner-implementation-contract-balloons-to-16-billion\" rel=\"noopener\">was expanded to $16bn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, last year the department&#8217;s Inspector General <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.va.gov\/oig\/pubs\/VAOIG-20-01930-183.pdf\" rel=\"noopener\">found that hospital workers were not adequately trained on the new software<\/a> during a pilot programme at a small facility.
