There is good news in store for a large portion of the American population as half a million have been chosen to receive a stimulus check payment<\/a> of $500. The low-income essential workers in Massachusetts have been selected to receive these bonus payments. The Governor of the State, Charlie Baker, mentioned that these payments came under the Covid-19 Essential Employee Premium Pay Program. This, in return, fell under the $4 billion rescue plan by the governor which was signed way back in December 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Stimulus Check Payment Coming In For Essential Workers<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

Close to $460 million has been set apart to help those who have been serving the communities in the early part of the pandemic. The current round of stimulus check payments has a net worth of $250 million. Needless to say, the payments have been coming at a good time when the rising cost of living has made it extremely challenging for most of the American population. The payments will be sent out at the end of March, specifically by mail.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The main question that stands now is- who will be declared eligible for the stimulus check payments? In order to be declared eligible, one has to be considered as an essential worker and also must have a household income<\/a> below 300% of the federal poverty level. The first round of the payments will be determined through the help of the state tax returns of 2020. This implies that every single worker with no dependents and an annual income of below $38,280 will be qualifying.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One also has to note that those who received unemployment compensation a couple of years back would not be deemed eligible for the first round of the stimulus check payments. Most of the commonwealth executive branch employees who have received or will be receiving a one-time payment from their state will also not be deemed eligible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
