Poking is quite simple. It basically allows you to send a virtual notification to someone. When you poke a user, that user gets a notification<\/a> saying that you have poked them. This allows you to get that user\u2019s attention, and they can then also poke you back if they want.<\/p>\n

To prevent the feature\u2019s abuse, Facebook only allows you to poke the people that are in your friend list. That way you won\u2019t get spammed<\/a> with pokes from strangers.<\/p>\n

On the \u201cPokes\u201d page, you will see a list of people that you can poke. To look for someone specific<\/a>, then use the search box at the top of the page.<\/p>\n
