Fifty of the fixes are rated Important while one is rated Moderate in terms of severity. And there&#8217;s no indication that any of these are under active exploitation. He points to the Windows DNS Server remote code execution vulnerability (<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/vulnerability\/CVE-2022-21984\">CVE-2022-21984<\/a>) as one such flaw.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If you have this setup in your environment, an attacker could completely take over your DNS and execute code with elevated privileges,&#8221; Childs explains in a <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zerodayinitiative.com\/blog\/2022\/2\/8\/the-february-2022-security-update-review\">blog post<\/a>. &#8220;Since dynamic updates aren\u2019t enabled by default, this doesn\u2019t get a critical rating. However, if your DNS servers do use dynamic updates, you should treat this bug as Critical.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"adun\" data-pos=\"top\" data-raptor=\"falcon\" data-xsm=\",fluid,mpu,\" data-sm=\",fluid,mpu,\" data-md=\",fluid,mpu,\">\n            <noscript><br \/>\n                <a href=\"https:\/\/pubads.g.doubleclick.net\/gampad\/jump?co=1&amp;iu=\/6978\/reg_security\/front&amp;sz=300x50%7C300x100%7C300x250%7C300x251%7C300x252%7C300x600%7C300x601&amp;tile=4&amp;c=44YgMRJq3Dr6gwfQ6NluZE5gAAAIU&amp;t=ct%3Dns%26unitnum%3D4%26raptor%3Dfalcon%26pos%3Dmid%26test%3D0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mailinvest.blog\/wp-content\/themes\/breek\/assets\/images\/transparent.gif\" data-lazy=\"true\" data-src=\"https:\/\/pubads.g.doubleclick.net\/gampad\/ad?co=1&amp;iu=\/6978\/reg_security\/front&amp;sz=300x50%7C300x100%7C300x250%7C300x251%7C300x252%7C300x600%7C300x601&amp;tile=4&amp;c=44YgMRJq3Dr6gwfQ6NluZE5gAAAIU&amp;t=ct%3Dns%26unitnum%3D426raptor%3Dfalcon%26pos%3Dmid%26test%3D0\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n            <\/noscript>\n        <\/div>\n<p>Likewise, the Windows Hyper-V remote code execution vulnerability (<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/vulnerability\/CVE-2022-21995\">CVE-2022-21995<\/a>) addresses a guest-to-host escape in Hyper-V server. Companies that rely on Hyper-V servers, Childs suggests, should treat this as a critical bug.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Breen, director of cyber threat research at Immersive Labs, said in an email that several of the vulnerabilities have been flagged as &#8220;Exploitation More Likely,&#8221; which means they should be prioritized for patching.<\/p>\n<p>Breen observes that this month brings still more vulnerabilities in Windows Print Spooler Components \u2013 <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/vulnerability\/CVE-2022-21999\">CVE-2022-21999<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/vulnerability\/CVE-2022-22718\">CVE-2022-22718<\/a>, <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/vulnerability\/CVE-2022-21997\">CVE-2022-21997<\/a>, and <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/vulnerability\/CVE-2022-22717\">CVE-2022-22717<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They are all listed as elevation of privilege, which forms a key part of the attack chain,&#8221; said Breen. &#8220;Once initial access has been gained, attackers will quickly seek to gain administrator-level access so they can move across the network, compromise other devices and avoid detection by disabling security tooling.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He also points to the Microsoft SharePoint Server remote code execution vulnerability (<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/vulnerability\/CVE-2022-22005\">CVE-2022-22005<\/a>) and the Win32k elevation of privilege Vulnerability (<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/msrc.microsoft.com\/update-guide\/vulnerability\/CVE-2022-21996\">CVE-2022-21996<\/a>) as now-rather-than-later repairs.<\/p>\n<div aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"adun\" id=\"story_eagle_xsm_sm_md_xmd_lg_xlg\" data-pos=\"mid\" data-raptor=\"eagle\" data-xsm=\",mpu,dmpu,\" data-sm=\",mpu,dmpu,\" data-md=\",mpu,dmpu,\" data-xmd=\",mpu,dmpu,\" data-lg=\",mpu,dmpu,\" data-xlg=\",mpu,dmpu,\">\n            <noscript><br \/>\n                <a href=\"https:\/\/pubads.g.doubleclick.net\/gampad\/jump?co=1&amp;iu=\/6978\/reg_security\/front&amp;sz=300x50%7C300x100%7C300x250%7C300x251%7C300x252%7C300x600%7C300x601&amp;tile=3&amp;c=33YgMRJq3Dr6gwfQ6NluZE5gAAAIU&amp;t=ct%3Dns%26unitnum%3D3%26raptor%3Deagle%26pos%3Dmid%26test%3D0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><br \/>\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mailinvest.blog\/wp-content\/themes\/breek\/assets\/images\/transparent.gif\" data-lazy=\"true\" data-src=\"https:\/\/pubads.g.doubleclick.net\/gampad\/ad?co=1&amp;iu=\/6978\/reg_security\/front&amp;sz=300x50%7C300x100%7C300x250%7C300x251%7C300x252%7C300x600%7C300x601&amp;tile=3&amp;c=33YgMRJq3Dr6gwfQ6NluZE5gAAAIU&amp;t=ct%3Dns%26unitnum%3D3%26raptor%3Deagle%26pos%3Dmid%26test%3D0\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n            <\/noscript>\n        <\/div>\n<p>Earlier this month, there were 19 fixes applied to the open source Chromium project, the foundation of Microsoft&#8217;s Edge browser, among others. Eight of the vulnerabilities were high severity. Hopefully that&#8217;s the last you&#8217;ll ever hear of them.<\/p>\n<p>As is now traditional, Adobe published a passel of patches, described in <a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/helpx.adobe.com\/security\/security-bulletin.html\">five security bulletins<\/a> that cover a total of 17 vulnerabilities in Illustrator, Creative Cloud Desktop, After Effects, Photoshop, and Premiere Rush.<\/p>\n<p>Illustrator leads the pack with 13 CVEs, two of which are critical while the rest are rated important. Creative Cloud Desktop, Photoshop, and After Effects each contain a single critical CVE, each allowing arbitrary code execution. Premiere Rush has just a moderate privilege escalation flaw.<\/p>\n<p>SAP bestowed us with 13 new security notes and five updates to previous Notes [<a target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/dam.sap.com\/mac\/app\/e\/pdf\/preview\/embed\/ucQrx6G?ltr=a&amp;rc=10\">PDF<\/a>]. Seven of these are chart-toppers that manage to score severity ratings of 10 out of 10. That translates to either as critical or &#8220;Hot News&#8221; if you&#8217;re SAP. Five of these have to do with Log4j fixes, two of which are new and three of which update December 2021 patches.<\/p>\n<p>According to security firm Onapsis, three of the vulnerabilities \u2013 CVE-2022-22536, CVE-2022-22532 and CVE-2022-22533 \u2013 affect SAP&#8217;s Internet Communication Manager (ICM), a core component of SAP&#8217;s software.
