These affiliate partnerships do not influence our editorial content.&#13;<br \/>\n        <\/em>&#13;\n    <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Sketchy rumors say Tesla has been developing an <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/inside\/App-Store\">App Store<\/a> that would feature on the cars&#8217; touchscreen control panel.&#13;<\/p>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>Even as Elon Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/appleinsider.com\/articles\/21\/07\/30\/teslas-elon-musk-backs-epic-calls-app-store-fees-a-de-facto-global-tax\">backs Epic Games<\/a> and calls Apple&#8217;s App Store, &#8220;a de facto global tax,&#8221; it&#8217;s said that Tesla is working on its own rival. Rumors were initially started when Tesla released an update that allowed for a customizable icon bar at the foot of the touchscreen.&#13;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>According to <em>TheDriven<\/em>, though, an investor the publication <a href=\"https:\/\/thedriven.io\/2022\/02\/07\/tesla-said-to-be-developing-app-store-to-rival-apple-and-android\/\">describes as<\/a> being &#8220;in the know,&#8221; has been hinting about Tesla App Store. Investor Sawyer Merritt tweeted a video of Steve Jobs unveiling the App Store, and said it is coming soon.&#13;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p>Merritt has not specifically said that there is a Tesla App Store. And Tesla has not announced one, but Elon Musk has recently tweeted that, &#8220;Tesla is as much a software company as it is a hardware [one].&#8221;&#13;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12\">\n<p><em>TheDriven<\/em> quotes other sources saying a Tesla App Store will launch before deliveries of the company&#8217;s Cyber Truck.
