Many people have multiple Google accounts for Gmail and other purposes. Annoyingly, Google makes it very difficult to sign out of only one account at a time. It is possible if you know where to look.<\/p>\n

When you\u2019re signed into multiple Google accounts, the option you\u2019ll see from the accounts menu is \u201cSign Out of All Accounts.\u201d This is really frustrating. Why should you only be able to sign out of all accounts or none? We\u2019ll show you how to do it.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> There\u2019s one pretty big catch to this method\u2014you can only sign out from a different device. For example, if you want to sign out of a Google account<\/a> on your desktop, you\u2019ll need to follow the steps from a different computer or your smartphone.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This process works the same from google.com<\/a> on the desktop and mobile browsers. Navigate to the website and select your profile icon in the top-right corner.<\/p>\n

Make sure you\u2019re using the account you want to sign out of and select \u201cManage Your Google Account.\u201d<\/p>\n

Next, head over to the \u201cSecurity\u201d section of the account settings and select \u201cManage Devices\u201d under \u201cYour Devices.\u201d<\/p>\n

Now click the three-dot icon for the device you want to sign out from and select \u201cSign Out.\u201d You\u2019ll notice there\u2019s no three-dot icon for the device you\u2019re currently using.<\/p>\n

Confirm that you want to \u201cSign Out.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s it! You can see how this is not a perfect fix. Essentially, you always will need to be signed into the account on one of your devices. One trick to get around this is to sign in to the account from incognito mode<\/a> on a separate device. It\u2019s a strange solution, but if you want to avoid signing out of multiple accounts at once, it works.<\/p>\n
