Humans will eventually colonize Mars, but what will the colonies actually look like? Architects Burak Celik, Naz Kaplan and Zeynep Ege Odabasi unveil Genesis V.2. The team\u2019s main goal was to come up with a design that is both sustainable as well as adaptable to Martian conditions, starting with a circular base station that can be constructed on a natural crater. The base station is built around the crater using connection joints around the main ring in a screw-like fashion and is anchored to the lowest level of the cauldron-like depression. This design enables researchers to move the structure if necessary, since the base station can be detached from the main ring and reattached to a larger crater.<\/p>\n
